Is it a man or a woman? What is he holding? Where is he sitting? The male figurine is made of marble and it provides us with valuable information about daily life in the Cyclades almost five millennia ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Create:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first human form made of clay. Then, make your own collection of moving figurines!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MATERIALS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Commercial or natural clay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A firm working surface<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A cup filled with water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A wooden skewer, toothpick or pencil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toilet paper rolls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scissors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PROCESS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Take a piece of clay the size of a tennis ball in your hands and mould it in order to soften it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To make the head, cut a piece that fits in the palm of your hand and form a ball<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To make the torso, take another piece of the same size and shape it into a thick pretzel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the legs, take a slightly larger piece of clay and create a long and a thin worm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once it\u2019s done, cut it in half.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat the same process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clay needs water in order to stick.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use your finger to add water to one side of the ball and one side of the pretzel and glue them together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next in line are the hands.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With the aid of your helper, press your finger on the connecting point and add a little more water if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Last thing left is the legs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With the assistance of your helper, press the connecting points with your finger and add a little more water if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now it&#8217;s time to add the clothes and details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the facial features, we can use the skewer and engrave them.
